Of course that can be easier said than done. There will always be people who doubt that you are more than what they think. We live in a world of people that plant such thoughts every day, and we often are the ones who water and grow those thoughts. Even the prophets of old struggled with this.

Jeremiah was a young man when God first called him to do great things with his life. God said, “Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations—that’s what I had in mind for you.”

Wow. God had big plans for Jeremiah, plans that began before he was ever born. But Jeremiah struggled to believe it. He had so many self-imposed labels: TOO YOUNG. POOR SPEAKER. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. He opened his mouth and got in trouble. He told God: Hold it, Master and God! Look at me. I don’t know anything. I’m only a boy!

If only Jeremiah had known, like we should know, when God speaks, learn to shut up and listen because God answers: “Do not say, ‘I am only a child.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. God was serious because he had a destiny for Jeremiah. God was adamant about it, too. He said: Do not speak those words over your life. I created you, and I know what your capable of doing. If you were too young, don’t you think I would know it?

God doesn’t want you to put a negative label on yourself. He is saying to stop: Stop saying those negative things. It’s time to remove the labels. Take the limits off of yourself. When you do, you will be surprised at what you find.
